You may be able to save money on blood work by using Quest Diagnostics instead of an in-network hospital or an out-of-network lab*

Did you know that you could pay a different price for the same test based on where you get that test? It all rests on your health insurance. The first step is staying in-network. The second step is to learn if there’s a cost difference between an independent lab like Quest Diagnostics and a hospital lab.

In-Network laboratories (like Quest)
In-Network Hospitals
Out-of-Network Labs and Hospitals

This is a representative example. Please check with your insurance company to see how much you can save when using Quest.

*The example is based on a patient who has already met their health insurance deductible. The “YOU PAY” costs are an example only, and are intended to encourage the reader to investigate their actual costs by reviewing their health plan benefits. Actual costs will vary.

**These costs show an example of a routine lab test. Lab test costs vary depending on the actual test performed. The percentage that you pay for a test at an in-network hospital laboratory may be the same or different from the percentage you pay for in-network laboratories.

Understanding and managing your cardiac health

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the U.S.1 That’s why your doctor recommends having your lipids tested to evaluate your cholesterol levels, and why we offer programs like Cardio IQ™ to help you understand and manage heart disease.

Cardio IQ can help you and your doctor more fully assess your risk after a cardio event. Armed with that knowledge, you can together make more informed decisions about treatment options.

And as part of Cardio IQ, you’re eligible for the 4myheart® program, which provides support and education to help you achieve a more heart-healthy lifestyle.

Prediabetes

Identifying prediabetes is the best defense against prediabetes

84.1 million people in the U.S. have prediabetes.2 Prediabetes is a condition where your blood sugar is higher than normal—but not yet high enough to be considered type 2 diabetes. Prediabetes often leads to type 2 diabetes and other serious health problems, including heart attack, stroke, and blindness. You can prevent prediabetes with even small changes in diet and exercise. Or, if you already have it, you can reverse it before it becomes full blown diabetes.

Quest Diagnostics tests will help you and your doctor know where you stand. Take control of your health with early detection.

Hepatitis C

Hepatitis C can happen to anyone

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone born between 1945 and 1965 receive a one-time hepatitis C virus blood test.3 Because of the way sterilization of needles, inoculations, and transfusions were handled prior to 1985, you may have been exposed to hepatitis C unknowingly.

Testing by Quest Diagnostics can help you understand if you’re living with hepatitis C.

Knowing your status can help you and your doctor plan therapy sooner to avoid potential liver damage.

HIV

HIV testing: the only sure way to know

There are an estimated 1.1 million persons living with HIV in the U.S., and 15% of those do not know they’re living with the virus.4

Men and women of all sexual orientations, all ages, and all races can get the virus. For the sake of personal and public safety, routine testing is extremely important. Only an HIV test can confirm whether a person is infected. That’s why HIV screening is so critical.

The CDC recommends that everyone between the ages of 13 and 64 get an HIV test.5 Testing by Quest Diagnostics can help you and your doctor understand your HIV status.
